Walt Disney World Resort is known for its thrilling rides, immersive theme parks and world-class entertainment. But you might not know that it offers some remarkable dining experiences, too.
Walt Disney World Resort restaurants serve up entertainment and an immersive experience along with delicious cuisine. To help you plan your next trip to Walt Disney World, here are some of our favorite magical dining experiences.
Dining in the Park
While there are budget-friendly restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll also find upscale dining experiences that you’ll long remember.
Epcot is our favorite theme park for dining, simply because the World Showcase has such a wealth of unique dining opportunities from around the world. Some of our favorites are Monsieur Paul in the France Pavilion or Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Italy Pavilion.
Takumi-tei: Epcot
Our number one favorite restaurant in Epcot, though, is Takumi-tei. This authentic restaurant takes Japanese cuisine to a whole new level. The restaurant has five beautiful rooms, each inspired by a natural element–water, wood, earth, stone or washi paper.
Guests choose from a six or seven-course meal paired with Saki especially chosen for each dish. It’s not inexpensive ($150 to $250 per person). We recommend the Japanese Wagyu filet as a main entre – they fly it in from Japan. The dishes are beautifully presented. This is a meal you’ll long remember.
Space 220: Ecpot
Dining at Disney World is often an immersive experience. The space-themed Space 220 restaurant at Epcot shuttles guests 220 miles above the Earth to dine among the stars. Providing a “you-are-there” experience, guests watch shuttles coming in for a landing or astronauts out for a spacewalk.
The food itself has a futuristic touch, and the meals are flavorful with an artistic flair. The prix fixe menu at lunchtime is $55 per adult and $29 for kids. At dinner, the adult price goes to $79.
Hollywood Brown Derby: Hollywood Studios
This replica of the famous California icon is our favorite restaurant at Hollywood Studios. Try the excellent filet mignon with horseradish and peppercorn sauce ($49.)
Dining at Walt Disney World Hotels
Victoria & Albert’s: The Grand Floridian Resort
If you’re celebrating a special occasion, Victoria & Albert’s is the place to go. This award-winning establishment is the crown jewel of Walt Disney World Resort dining. It has been the recipient of the prestigious AAA Five Diamond Award since 2000.
Known for its elevated epicurean experiences and lavish setting, a reflection of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Celebration, the restaurant offers three different dining options – the Dining Room, the very private Queen Victoria’s Room and The Chef’s Table, where guests can interact with the chefs.
Semi-formal or formal dress is requested, and guests under age 10 are not permitted. Expect to spend several hundred dollars and up per person.
Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
If you’re looking for something a little more casual, this family-friendly steakhouse is the newest restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, it’s an excellent option for those who enjoy class prime rib, top sirloin steak and other classic favorites.
California Grill: Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Also located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort is California Grill, which offers multicourse dining with cuisine inspired by the Pacific Coast. Fresh fish, sushi and sashimi, oak-fired filet and fire-roasted venison all make this inspired menu. Prices start at $89 per adult and $39 for kids. The best part is that you’ll have an incredible view of the sunset and nightly fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
Boma – Flavors of Africa: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Boma is our favorite breakfast option hands down at Walt Disney World Resort. Located in Animal Kingdom Lodge, the restaurant resembles a lively African marketplace. You can go for an all-you-can eat breakfast or dinner. The breakfast buffet is large and has a wide offering of American classics along with African-inspired dishes.
Disney Dining Tips
Plan ahead and make your reservations well in advance, up to 60 days before you arrive. You can change or cancel if you need to, but this way, you’ll have a reservation. Some Walt Disney World restaurants will provide a longer dining experience, so plan your time accordingly. Bon Appetit!
