Hello, this is your captain speaking – buckle up because we are going to find the best amusement parks on Earth.
Ok, I’m definitely not the world’s greatest adventurer, but I still remember the fun that I had in, for example, Gardaland, Italy, many years ago.
I am actually delighted by how quickly time flies in amusement parks and how there is no time for problems—just for constant laughing.
Although I am not one to emphasize amusement parks when planning a trip, I still believe it is an unforgettable experience.
So, where can we find those roller coasters that make our hearts race and fairy-tale wonderlands where we may feel like kids again?
America, Europe, or Asia—where is the best entertainment?
Ferrari World, Abu Dhabi
Looking for the world’s fastest rollercoaster? You’re insane, but here it is: Formula Rossa at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.
Obviously, this thrilling theme park celebrates the iconic Ferrari brand.
So, it’s no surprise that the world’s fastest roller coaster may be found right here. The Formula Rossa accelerates to 149 mph (240 km/h) in 4.9 seconds. How crazy is that?
Best Tips & Tools to Plan Your Trip
Also, I highly recommend the Galleria Ferrari, where you can learn more about Ferrari’s history and see amazing Ferrari models.
Of course, if you have kids, they will start crying because they want to drive, right? So take them to the Junior Grand Prix, where they can race go-karts in a safe environment.
And when you get hungry, I recommend traditional Italian cuisine at various dining venues.
I really think a day at Ferrari World looks pretty cool, even if you’re not a car enthusiast.
Europa-Park: Voltron Powered by Rimac Group
How could I not promote the theme park that we Croats can be proud of? But it’s an amazing story, I promise.
Actually, Europa Park, Europe’s largest park, is in Germany, near the border with France.
So, what does it have to do with Croatia?
Well, Europa Park has a Croatia-themed area: you can stroll the Croatian island of Hvar and learn about one of the greatest inventors of all time, Nikola Tesla (who was born in Smiljan, today’s Croatia).
But the main star is the rollercoaster Voltron, and I must warn you: this great adventure is only for the bravest.
Namely, this rollercoaster was created by the Rimac Group, whose founder is Mate Rimac, a Croatian young innovator who created Nevera, a Croatian electric hypercar that broke numerous world speed records.
So, this will be a wild ride, and you will be part of some world records because why not? This rollercoaster has some insane characteristics, including 2.2 seconds of weightlessness in one go, one backward, and the world’s steepest launch at 105 degrees.
You will go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye before you can think, “Why did I do this to myself?” Joking aside, everyone who tried it said that once you experience this amount of adrenaline, you just want it at least once more.
And during this thrilling ride, the experience will “spice up” the sound of “nevera”, a thunderous storm from Croatia’s Adriatic coast. Beauty is in the details, right?
Port Aventura Park
Another European destination for your inner child is Port Aventura in Spain.
I recommend a great adventure on Shambhala, where you’ll plummet to 249 feet. After a quick recovery, have fun with your friends at Tutuki Splash, and for a break from the adrenaline, I suggest Sesame Street Adventures.
Trust me, it’s not just for the kids; nothing says “I’m on vacation,” like dancing with a huge cartoon while your friends record it for future blackmail.
And let’s not forget about the food—from tapas to pizza, calories don’t count when you’re having fun, right?
Also, two great similar amusement parks in Europe are Alton Towers in England and Gardaland in Italy.
Cedar Point
If you want heart-pounding roller coasters, I highly recommend Cedar Point in Ohio, USA.
Why? Because it is known as the “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.”
Isn’t that impressive for an amusement park?
Cedar Point has 18 coasters, including some record-breaking ones, that will take your breath away. Well, perhaps even literally.
Joking aside, Cedar Point also has beautiful views of Lake Erie, so I think it is a nice blend of adrenaline and relaxation.
And do you know where the best views of the lake are? From the top of a roller coaster, of course.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Magic Mountain has even more roller coasters than “Roller Coaster Capital of the World.”
It has an impressive collection of 20 world-class roller coasters, including several record-breaking ones. Would you dare try X2 with rotating seats for a 4D ride?
Six Flags can also be found in Texas or Mexico, and for similar roller coaster experiences, visit Kings Island and Holiday World in Ohio, or Hersheypark in Indiana.
And if you’re not so much into adrenaline, Six Flags Magic Mountain also has seasonal events, live entertainment, themed areas, and a beautiful mountain background for a true California adventure.
More than enough for an amusement park, right?
Universal’s Islands of Adventure
What about a place where storytelling meets thrilling rides? Universal’s Islands of Adventure (Universal Orlando Resort, Florida, USA).
This American attraction is organized into distinct thematic islands and is definitely one of the best theme parks, featuring activities such as exploring the wonderlands of Harry Potter or Jurassic Park.
By the way, if you love Harry Potter and Jurassic Park, I also recommend Universal Studios Hollywood (California), Universal Studios Florida, Universal Studios Japan, and Universal Studios Singapore.
So, I’d say that all of them will transport you into the heart of your favorite stories, making it really intense.
Efteling, Netherlands
Efteling is famous for its fairy-tale themes and lovely gardens. So it is no surprise that it is one of the most beautiful theme parks.
Aside from the rollercoasters and fairy-tale scenes, I believe Efteling has excellent dining options and unique souvenir shops. I recommend that you buy one because you will want to remember your Efteling adventure.
Also, Efteling has an app, which I recommend downloading to help you organize your great adventure and make the most of your day.
Legoland, Denmark
This is a place where your kids will be in heaven, so you’ll have an amazing time as a family. Legoland in Denmark has more than 50 attractions.
For example, LEGO Ninjago World will let your kids discover their inner ninjas through interactive challenges.
Also, I believe you will be amazed by Miniland, a section of Legoland where famous landmarks from around the world are constructed from LEGO bricks. It is really impressive.
Everland, Yongin, South Korea
Okay, how beautiful is Everland in South Korea? Is it enough to say that it is often called Korea’s Disneyland?
This theme park covers approximately 1.5 million square meters. It has several thrilling rollercoasters, but it’s not all adrenaline.
It also has a beautiful Rose Garden, with 3 million roses of 720 different varieties. Can you imagine?
There are also beautiful seasonal celebrations, including tulip gardens in the spring and light shows in the winter. So it’s ideal for romantic walks.
Therefore, if you just can’t choose between adrenaline and romance, I recommend Everland in South Korea.
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
How about wandering around the streets of Paris or enjoying the German Oktoberfest, but without jet lag?
Busch Gardens Williamsburg combines thrilling rides with Europe’s cultural experiences.
You can explore themed areas like England, Scotland, and Italy and enjoy their attractions, live entertainment, and delicious food.
I recommend the famous Verbolten coaster, which takes you on a dark ride through the Black Forest.
I have to tell you this because I’m from Europe: if you can’t travel to Europe, at least come here.
Busch Gardens Tampa
Are there any animal lovers here? Busch Gardens Tampa combines thrilling rides and animal interactions.
Throughout its themed areas, you can experience different worlds, such as Africa or Asia.
I recommend a dive coaster, SheiKra, as well as taking a leisurely tour through the Animal Care Center to hear about conservation efforts.
And if you love animals, I also recommend Seaworld Orlando.
Dollywood
Did you know that Dolly Parton co-owns an amusement park?
I would say that Dolly’s influence is nicely sprinkled all over this place. I recommend a famous roller coaster called Lightning Rod, and while you’re waiting in line for a ride, you’ll enjoy bluegrass music.
So if you are a fan, I really think you will enjoy it.

Disneyland Parks
Is there anyone in the world who has not heard of Disneyland parks? Disneyland Magic Kingdom attracts millions of visitors every year.
Disneyland simply brings magic to life, from the charm of Tokyo Disneyland and the aquatic adventures of Tokyo DisneySea to the cinematic wonder of Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris.
Meanwhile, Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers a thrilling blend of wildlife and imagination, complementing the fun of the water parks at various Disney resorts.
Also, China’s Disneyland adds its own cultural flair to the iconic experience, making a visit unforgettable.
You realize that Walt Disney World is everywhere.

So, Why Theme Parks?
I believe that theme parks and amusement parks offer more than simply thrilling rides; they also provide an opportunity for family and friends to bond through shared experiences.
I think it’s an excellent way to escape from all of life’s stresses and just laugh all day. If you’ve ever been to an amusement park, you understand what I’m talking about.
If not, then pick one and go. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Because, honestly, when was the last time your inner child went on such a great adventure?
