We’ve come a long way, baby, when it comes to females taking solo trips, according to the online hostel booking service Hostelworld.

American women have typically ranked high in solo travel—72% take solo journeys, according to a survey from Booking.com.

This means that women are stepping out of their comfort zones and taking to the skies and highways in search of adventure.

Taking that data a step further, Budget Direct Travel Insurance broke down the top places solo female travel is booming based on an analysis of geolocation data and a roundup of Instagram hashtags such as #WomenWhoTravel.
